Meet Our Makers – Dindi Brews

As we look to a time when restrictions begin to ease and the thought of regional travel becomes a real possibility for the whole of Victoria, many of us are thinking of those sunny afternoons with a picnic at Lake Eildon, peaceful walks along the beautiful Steavenson River in Marysville or a quick cycle down the Great Victorian Rail Trail to a quiet spot in Yea. While you’re busy exploring the nature and beauty of Murrindindi, why not take a break, support local and pop into one of our stores for a special treat or order via the Dindi Store from the comfort of your own home!

Murrindindi Shire is full of local artists, creators and makers wherever you travel. This month, meet the local producers at Bonfire Station Microbrewery and Farmstay and the owners of the Yea Winery, Cidery and Brewery.

Rob and Flo run the Bonfire Station MicroBrewery and Farmstay located in Taggerty. Rob, along with his brother Phillip and his partner Flo, decided to turn their combined passion into a business by converting the old golf club clubrooms on his families’ property into a quaint, comfortable and beautiful tap room and function centre. But it did not end there, they have accommodation onsite, and plenty of beers to whet the appetite. Flo’s Belgium heritage is a strong influence in their brewing style and there is sure to be a taste for every palate. Keep an eye out for their canned beer in local bottle shops and enjoy!

If your trip is towards the other side of the Murrindindi Shire do not fret, there is another local establishment called the Yea Winery, Cidery and Brewery that can take care of all your beer and cider needs.

David and Pat have spent years working in the food and wine industry and have had a long relationship with Yea. They have run successful wineries and even the local Beaufort Manor before turning their hand to cider and beer and opening the Yea Winery, Cidery and Brewery. With seven different ciders, as well as a selection of beers and wine, there is always something to suit and style any occasion. Their new premises on High Street in Yea is due to open soon, whether you are stopping in for a drink or grabbing some takeaway for your next destination, you will not be disappointed with what’s on offer here!
