Surrounded by ferns, mosses and fungi in a beautiful eucalypt forest, these falls are a must see experience.

🌿💦STEAVENSON FALLS🌿💦

🤔Did you know that the spectacular Steavenson Falls were opened to tourists back in 1866? One of our region’s most iconic waterfalls and a highlight of any trip to Marysville, the falls plummet 84 metres into the Steavenson River Valley and flow all year round.

🥾An easy and level 700m walk takes you from the car park to the base of the falls, with options to view from a bridge in front of the falls, platforms either side or from the top via a steep 800m walk.

💡The falls are floodlit between dusk and midnight, and on very special occasions you may also encounter snow.

😍If you haven’t visited already, be sure to add this one to your bucket list!

💦🌿 PHANTOM FALLS 💦🌿

😍 As the name suggests, these falls can be a little elusive. Let’s just say they aren’t as large or as easy to get to as say Steavenson Falls. In saying that, they’re totally worth the effort to get to!

🚗🐎 Located 8.4km from Marysville along the picturesque Lady Talbot Drive, Phantom Falls cascades over granite boulders before disappearing into the lush fern gully below.

🥾 From the carpark, the walk to get to the falls is 1.6km return. But don’t be deceived by its short distance, as it does have a few steep climbs. It will take about 45 minutes to complete the walk (return). And if you’re arriving on horseback like this group of local riders, getting there is half the fun!

💦🌿Walk highlights include the two bridge crossings, one across the Taggerty River and a second across Phantom Creek at the falls. After you cross this second bridge, the walk to the top is only a short distance. Once at the top you can catch a snippet of the falls up close, flowing across a smooth rock face before disappearing again down into the understorey of the forest.
