Acheron Cutting Lookout

Acheron Cutting Lookout is one of the district's most popular scenic lookouts. The stunning view extends over the Goulburn River Valley to the east and beyond up the Thornton Valley towards Eildon.

The view changes with the seasons and is highly photographic all year. Be sure to check out this place at sunrise for the best views over the countryside.

GETTING THERE

The roadside lookout is located on the Maroondah Highway, 7.2 km (six minutes drive) from Alexandra on the left side of the road.  From Taggerty, it is about an 11 km along Maroondah Highway on your right  (eight minutes drive).
