Not a bad way to watch the sun go down .. Lake Eildon in summer is a true beauty 🤭

A peaceful sunset on the water, surrounded by Lake Eildon National Park after spending the day swimming, fishing or boating on the lake... what more could you want?! 😍

You can hire a house boat from @watersedgehouseboathire, kick up your feet and relax on the deck with family and friends, or even throw the rod in for a fish!

OR if that's not your thing, rent some stand up paddle boards or kayaks from @jerusalemcreek and spend the day paddling on the lake!

Golden hour at the Eildon Pondage gets us every time 😍

The Eildon Pondage is a short walk from the Eildon shops and looks pretty spectacular at any time of day, especially at sunrise and sunset 👀

Sit back and listen to the surrounding ducks quack, cast a line in and give fishing a go or complete the 6km circuit around the pondage on foot, by bike or with your furry best friend by your side 🦆

Spend the night at the nearby @eildonpondageholidaypark or follow the extended trail out to

4 walks in Toolangi State Forest you can't miss! 🌳🚶‍♀️

1️⃣Kalantha Giants Tree Walk - An easy 500m return trail that takes in the magnificent Kalatha Giant, a large mountain ash tree that has survived multiple bushfires and estimated to be over 350 years old and is 73m tall with a circumference of 16m.

2️⃣Myrtle Gully Circuit - one of three great walks starting from the Wirrawilla car park in the Toolangi State Forest. The walk is approximately 10km in length and meanders through lush ferns and tall, ancient Myrtle trees.

3️⃣Wirrawilla Rainforest Walk - a short gentle boardwalk that winds under dense, ancient sassafras and myrtle beech trees, alongside the towering tallest flowering trees (and moss) in the world!

4️⃣Tanglefoot Loop - a spectacular walk through the majestic Mountain Ash and delves into fern gullies and cool, temperate rain forests. It’s MAGICAL! The track is 9km one way, taking about 3 or so hours.

🥾Boot up! - Bring suitable clothing and footwear as the trail can be muddy under foot, trees can fall, small streams can form over paths and a cool misty fog can be expected on cooler mornings

🐶 Dogs are allowed in Toolangi State Forest but please remember to keep your best friend on a leash and clean up after them so that these trails remain the same for future visitors.
