Lake Eildon boasts over 500km of shoreline and at full capacity can store six times as much water as Sydney Harbour! Whether you’re into water sports, boating, fishing, kayaking or just after the perfect insta-worthy snapshot of a crystal-clear lake, this little beauty offers it up in spades. A favourite haunt for locals and visitors, Lake Eildon is the perfect place to plan your escape year-round.

RUBICON VALLEY HISTORIC AREA

If you are looking for the perfect setting to pitch your tent, then look no further than Rubicon Valley. This historic area is home to natural waterfalls, scenic campsites, hiking trails and is a popular haven for native birdlife. Steeped in history, the beautiful Rubicon River serves up a series of spectacular trestle bridges set amongst remnants of the timber industry.

SNOBS CREEK FALLS

You would be forgiven for thinking that Snobs Creek Falls is only for the elite, as this aptly named gem of a waterfall is only for those who can truly appreciate this well regarded, superior natural wonder, boasting a 100m drop and putting other competing natural waterways to shame. It comes with its own spectacular viewing platform that is fixed to a steep rock face on the side of the falls, jutting out in front of the cascading water.

 

EAT & DRINK

Yarck Hotel

The Yarck Hotel is a classic country pub just off the Maroondah Highway in the beautiful township of Yarck. The famous Cattleman’s Bar, dining room, beer garden and bottleshop are operated by local farmers and associates.

Specials at the hotel include Steak and Pot Wedesdays, Parma and Pot Thursdays, and Roasts on Fridays. They also offer happy hour on Fridays from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Their recently renovated accommodation blends cosy country charm with a modern provincial style. Your perfect little escape whether you’re seeking a romantic getaway or a peaceful family retreat, you’ll feel right at home.

They have multiple spaces that can be booked for larger groups, and can cater to your needs no matter how formal or casual your event.

FESTIVALS & EVENTS

Eildon Twilight Market

The Eildon Twilight Market will have a great variety of local food and beverage trucks, also local producers with a wide array of goods to try or buy. This will showcase the abundance of quality local artisans, artists and creators.

Come and listen to some great music from the very talented local musicians. Starting with the youth session, lead by Paul Ray Music followed by Gary Solomon and Tayla Anne. What a night of entertainment.

Plenty of room on the new stage and undercover.

Family activities are available and the market is pet friendly (dogs must be on a lead, and under control at all times). Bring along your picnic blanket and settle in for a great evening

Entry is by gold coin donation, with electronic transfer available.

STAY

Villa Jones Lake Eildon

Villa Jones, perched on one of Eildon’s prime locations, offers a mid century modern retreat with sprawling grounds. Designed in the 60s by Architect James Earl, this single level residence ensures privacy amidst lush gardens and panoramic views. Equipped with modern amenities, fully equipped kitchen, heating/cooling, Wi-Fi , a swimming pool and gas barbeque, the villa promises a relaxing holiday experience.

The home comprises a large living /dining area with a stone open fireplace. There are three master suites all with ensuite and queen size beds , one including a single and a rollaway, accommodation for eight guests in total with all linen and towels provided, all commercially laundered. Outside north facing terrace with pizza oven, rear yard with solar heated swimming pool, barbecue and children’s play equipment including trampoline. Come and enjoy Eildon in Northeast Victoria, in any season for any reason.

Eildon Village and splash park is a stone’s throw away. Lake Eildon is at your fingertips for your water sport requirements. Eildon mountain bike park is at the back gate. Eildon pondage, Foggs lookout and snobs Creek Falls are all nearby.
