Quiet sealed back roads and gravel lanes are the highlights of this 42km loop with multiple options to extend the ride up into the Black Range State Forest.
Starting from the township of Alexandra the trail heads out on back roads across the Goulburn River via the iconic timber Breakaway Bridge. You'll then find yourself heading for the hills of the Black Range State Forest amongst rolling flat farmland. Once into the bush the trail slowly ascends through native and plantation timber with solitude and glimpses of the valley beyond two of the highlights. After the highpoint of the route descend to the Maroondah Highway for the final 3km back into Alexandra.
